METCON class is a 1 hour class that focuses on the metabolic conditioning aspect of CrossFit (aka "cardio"). These classes will still be instructor-lead with a general and specific warm-up. The high intensity portion of the METCON classes will typically be in the 15-25 minute range. The movements we select will still be functional, but more time will be spent on drilling move advanced movements. There will not be a specific strength portion during the METCON classes. These routines are designed to burn a ton of stored energy in a short amount of time.
The main principle behind it is moving from exercise to exercise with minimal rest, while maintaining proper technique. METCON protocols such as: HIIT, Tabata and circuit training, have been proven to be one of the most effective methods for increasing endurance, burning calories and improving overall fitness and strength
Our coaching staff has been trained and certified to work with expecting and postpartum moms. Every exercise movement will be safe and catered towards an expecting mamas needs and concerns.
